Overview
The Sales Office is the hub of all Sales activities within Cochran in terms of boiler product enquiry management, the tendering process and customer support through to order receipt and issuing of internal manufacturing instructions.
Operating strictly in accordance with established processes and procedures, including the Company Commercial policies, we strive to deliver an excellent customer experience and measure our success through various KPI’s.
Due to forthcoming retirement, we are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and organised Trainee Sales Engineer to join our team to build on our continued success, based in Annan.
You will have already gained a recognised Engineering qualification thorough an Apprenticeship route or at HNC/HND/Graduate level.
You should be able to work effectively under direction or on own initiative whilst handling multiple-tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.You will have excellent use of written and verbal English language and be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.The ability to read technical drawings and specifications would be a distinct advantage.
This role is primarily office based in our Annan headquarters but there may be some occasional travel to visit customer sites as required.
Responsibilities
* Review of enquiries received to understand customer requirements and matching of Cochran products and services through detailed tender preparation
* Preparation of tender price analysis for agreed scope of product offering. This can either be from available product price lists if standard through to detailed cost analysis against bespoke product design
* Sourcing and negotiation of products and services for elements in our scope of supply from various suppliers and contractors
* Close liaison with team members to ensure we are meeting customer and company requirements and providing technical and commercial support as required
* Responding to customer’s telephone enquiries for prices and technical information
* Order review and assist in the preparation of detailed manufacturing instructions and hand-over documentation to the Contracts Office
