Overview
Communications and Engagement Officer in the Thames Major Projects Hub. We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic person to fill this role to support high-profile flood risk management schemes and deliver a wide range of communications, engagement and project tasks. You will build good working relationships with internal and external partners and customers to help manage our reputation, and ensure our engagement vision is communicated in a timely and professional way.
Responsibilities

* Support the different project teams with a wide range of communications, engagement and project tasks.
* Build good working relationships with internal and external partners and customers to help manage our reputation.
* Deliver high-quality communications materials and ensure project work is communicated to a wide range of stakeholders in a timely and professional way.
* Be a self-starter with a flexible attitude, use initiative to find better ways of doing things, and ensure tasks are performed efficiently and effectively.
* Demonstrate strong organisational skills, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
Experience / Skills Required
* Positive, proactive and hard-working attitude.
* Highly organised, flexible, and able to deliver quickly in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a diverse, dispersed team.
* Experience engaging and communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Good writing skills and experience producing internal and external materials (e.g., minutes, responses to enquiries, briefings, newsletters, presentations, factsheets).
* Strong IT skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Experience and enjoyment of using digital media, including social media.
Additional Information
* Length of contract: Up to 12 months.
* Location: Wallingford, England, United Kingdom.
