We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading oil & gas organisation based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in engineering design, product development, and technical leadership within a specialist equipment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and procedures
- Produce and review technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Develop assembly, disassembly, and redress procedures
- Generate engineering test requests and reports
- Lead design planning, reviews, and approvals
- Support product development and equipment qualification/testing
- Oversee prototype design and workshop testing
- Review customer specifications and technical data
- Ensure designs meet performance and engineering standards (API)
- Define Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC) based on customer requirements
- Maintain drawing control and integrity within systems
Requirements
- er:Bachelors degree in Engineering / Design (or similar).
- Significant design experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of API (American Petroleum Institute) standards (API 11-D1, Q1 awareness).
- Experience with Solidworks is essential.
- Understanding of downhole, packer or completion equipment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design calculations and manufacturing principles.
