Ashville College, Harrogate, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Art to cover maternity leave from January 2026.

The successful candidate will need to be a well-qualified and dynamic teacher with the skill to teach the full ability and age range, including A Level across the College.

The successful candidate will need to be passionate about learning and have good subject knowledge. A specialism/interest in digital media would be advantageous but not essential.

The post is part time, working 4 days per week and would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs.

Please be advised that, as Ashville is an Independent School, we operate our own competitive Teacher's Pay Scale. The School operates a Defined Contribution (DC) pension plan with Legal and General (18% School contribution) and offers additional salary sacrifice for employee contributions (7-18%) to this plan.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England. The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
