Water Resources Security of Supply – Senior Advisor - 33520

In the Water Resources Security of Supply team we ensure that there is enough water for society and the environment over the next 25 years. This role supports upcoming water resources planning rounds and changes to regulate the water industry to secure the country’s water supplies for the next generation.
Responsibilities
In this post you will bring your own technical water resources experience with a key project management focus and strong communication skills. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing preparation for the next round of water resources management plans (WRMPs) and reviewing water company drought plans.
* Working closely with Defra, Ofwat, DWI, Natural England and Environment Agency colleagues to ensure high-quality water company plans.
* Liaising with the water industry on a technical level, coordinating and hosting events to share knowledge and understanding.
* Providing technical and policy input to the organisation and government where needed, in collaboration with Defra colleagues.
* Leading and coordinating with two posts within the team; experience in team leadership is useful but not essential.
Experience and qualifications
We are looking for someone ready for an interesting and challenging job. The following experience and capabilities are desirable:
* Building, maintaining and maximising relationships with good communication skills.
* Ability to scope, lead and deliver specific projects aligned with team and government priorities, delivering value for money.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A proven track record of achieving results.
* Technical experience of water resources planning is beneficial; support can be provided if not already in place.
* Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and to encourage consideration of diversity in work.

Additional information
Location: EA Office base with national scope; working location is flexible/hybrid. Some travel and overnights may be required, especially to London.
