Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the role of Lead GP for the Urgent Treatment Centre and GP OOH services at Mid Cheshire Hospital, Crewe. This is a part time post being offered at 7.5 hours per week.
We are looking for someone with proven leadership experience, preferably within a GP OOH/UTC setting, enabling them to quickly engage with the tasks, activities and challenges associated with service delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your management and leadership skills, gain experience in strategic clinical oversight, and play a pivotal role in shaping urgent care delivery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence service delivery, support workforce sustainability and contribute to building a modern, efficient and patient‑focused primary model of care for the future.
You are required to have continuous full registration with the GMC and to continue to hold a Licence to Practise. In addition, you are required to be on the Specialist Register.
Main duties of the job
* Oversee the delivery of quality standards and performance targets to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care, including monitoring key performance indicators, reviewing clinical outcomes, and implementing improvements where necessary.
* Provide ongoing support, guidance, and mentorship to medical, nursing, and administrative staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
* Ensure adherence to Trust policies, clinical protocols, and governance frameworks, promoting best practice and high standards across all areas of service delivery.
* Facilitate communication and coordination between teams, acting as a point of contact for escalation of clinical issues.
* Support workforce development, including identifying training needs, encouraging professional development opportunities, and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
* Contribute to service planning and improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of local policies, pathways, and initiatives aimed at improving patient care and service efficiency.
