At Connection Support, we believe in a future free from crisis, but when crises do happen, we’re there every step of the way. We are currently recruiting for a Community Connector to join our Thrive team in Buckinghamshire. About the Service Thrive is an initiative that sits within Connection Support that is specifically aimed at families. It was started as a response to those many children in Buckinghamshire who are not living in the safe and loving environments they need to thrive, leaving them at risk of lifelong negative consequences. The impact you will have Working collaboratively with families, volunteers and partner organisations, you will champion parent voice and participation, helping to create inclusive and empowering opportunities for families to lead, influence and connect with one another. This role is key to empowering parents and families to use their lived experience to shape the Thrive community. By creating opportunities for connection, peer support and involvement, you will help reduce isolation, build confidence and strengthen community networks. Your work will help ensure Thrive remains responsive, community-led and focused on the needs and strengths of the families it supports. Contract Details Contract: Permanent Hours: 22.5 – 30 hours per week, across 3- 4 days between Monday – Friday. Flexibility may be required on occasion to support family events. Salary: £27,418 – £28,541 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience. Please note the salary shown is the full time equivalent. About you You will be passionate about empowering parents and families and committed to creating inclusive, supportive and community-led opportunities. You will value lived experience, understand the importance of building trust and relationships, and be confident engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You will bring: Experience of working with, empowering and championing parents and families with lived experience. A good understanding of the issues affecting parents and families, including the impact of financial disadvantage and poverty. Experience of promoting safe practice and maintaining appropriate boundaries when working with families. Experience of connecting with communities and supporting or establishing community groups. Knowledge of local communities within Buckinghamshire. Experience of facilitating advisory groups, parent-led groups or similar forums that help shape and improve services. You will be approachable, organised and proactive, with the ability to build positive relationships and help create a welcoming and empowering environment for families.
