KG Doodles is seeking staff with at least a Childcare NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification, along with relevant work experience.
Staff requirements include:
* Acquiring a first aid qualification (provided through in-house training).
* Availability for work from Monday to Friday (5 days a week).
* Commitment to 25 hours per week during school term time, specifically between 7:30-9:00 am and 2:30-6:30 pm.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Monitor the play equipment to ensure it meets the required health and safety standards regarding construction, repair, and user suitability. Function as a playworker at the club, including proposing changes and developments to the service.
* Collaborate with the Manager to develop planned activity programs for term time and holidays, tailoring them to the ages and preferences of the users. Ensure inclusivity so that activities accommodate children who require special attention or come from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Manage off-site visits by securing the necessary consent forms and recognizing any special medical or other needs.
* Develop activities that are valuable in supporting the National Curriculum, fostering the development of social skills, and promoting appropriate behaviours. Involve children in choosing the activities.
* Collaborate with other playwork staff to exchange activities and skills, thereby expanding the club's range of offerings. Assist in publicising the service and special events by helping to produce leaflets and posters.
* Assist in setting up and cleaning the club equipment. Perform administrative tasks and financial record-keeping in accordance with the club's established procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times, keep records pertinent to the service, and complete departmental monitoring and returns punctually.
* Pay careful attention to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, adhering to the child protection procedures established by the Local Council.
