A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for an Estate Surveyor to join their Property & Estates Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a commercial property management environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To support the effective management of the council’s commercial property portfolio, ensuring assets are managed efficiently, income is maximised, and statutory and corporate obligations are met.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Managing a diverse commercial property portfolio including landlord and tenant matters
• Undertaking rent reviews, lease renewals, and negotiating new lettings
• Carrying out property inspections and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
• Providing professional valuation and estate management advice to internal stakeholders
• Supporting acquisitions, disposals, and asset rationalisation initiatives
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require the following essential qualifications:
MRICS qualified (or working towards accreditation)
RICS-accredited degree in Estate Management, Real Estate, or similar
Full UK Driving LicenceThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Previous experience working within a Local Authority property team
Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and commercial property law
Experience negotiating leases, rent reviews, and disposals
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £37 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £30 per hour PAYE).
