Summary
Relief Scheme Support Officers to work in across services in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. This could include day shifts, weekends, sleep in shifts or wakeful nights shifts.
About The Role
This is a Scheme Support Officer role, based in our Supported accommodation services, on a relief basis. This position is ideal for individuals with other commitments or someone who wants to try something new. It gives you the chance to feel you are making a difference daily.
Managers will offer shifts in the Cardiff or Vale area (or further if you wish) with as much notice as possible, but you might be contacted on an ad-hoc basis when shift cover is needed. As such, the hours may not be guaranteed.
Services in the area
Dyfrig House - provides supported accommodation for homeless people who are motivated to address their problematic alcohol and substance use issues.
We support these individuals by engaging them in recovery & treatment services and through providing housing related support so that they can live independently.
Cedar House - Our team in Cardiff provide temporary supported accommodation for males who require a safe space due to being a victim domestic abuse/violence. As one of the few refuges in Wales we provide crucial support to those that require it
Barry Offenders Project - provides temporary, supported accommodation for both young and older adults who have been involved in the criminal justice services. Our teams provide support to people to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression.
Skills And Experience Needed
Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.

* A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
* Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations

Pay and Pensions
* £24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hour)
* Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift
* Pension Choices:
o Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or,
o Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
