Role Responsibilities:
* Assist with the smooth running of the transport department through effective management
* Manage on-road issues and delivery failure processes, liaising with customers
* Ensure thorough training of drivers and porters in transportation safety and compliance
* Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery, planning and optimizing routes
* Conduct pre-shift and de-brief sessions with road crews
* Manage performance and ensure compliance with legal requirements
* Maintain high standards in line with IKEA’s quality processes
* Manage drivers' hours and ensure accurate records for audits
* Investigate incidents, including missing items
* Follow Safe Systems of Work processes in accordance with health and safety regulations
Required Skills and Experience:
* Previous supervisory experience in transport is essential
* Strong IT skills, including MS Office and transport management systems
* Good knowledge of driver and transport legislation
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Positive, flexible attitude
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
