Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm & Friday 8.30am - 2.00pm
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join a flourishing and well-established manufacturing company based in Poole. This privately owned company has over 50 years of experience supplying machined parts and ancillaries for various industrial applications.
In this role, you will oversee the CNC Machine Shop and manufacturing areas, developing the team to achieve higher standards, ensuring the company continues to manufacture products to the highest standards while meeting customer deadlines.
We are seeking an individual who not only has CNC knowledge but can also mentor and lead the team to excel in their roles.
You will be responsible for approximately 35 staff across the shop floor, including production planning and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prioritising, issuing, and scheduling work orders for the Machine Shop
2. Managing production targets and KPIs
3. Ensuring overall efficiency and productivity of production
4. Maintaining quality and compliance of manufactured products
5. Identifying manufacturing needs for new and existing products
6. Implementing and maintaining best practices and continuous improvements
7. Championing health & safety policies and ensuring their implementation in the Machine Shop
8. Recruiting, training, and developing staff
Person Specification
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
1. Previous experience as a Production Engineer, Supervisor, or Manager within a CNC environment
2. Experience leading or managing a team of CNC Machinists (Turners & Millers)
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Strong scheduling and prioritisation skills
5. Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance in manufacturing
