Job Description:
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Northumberland.
Multiple positions are available, and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We aim to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
We are seeking passionate SEN / SEND tutors eager to work one-on-one with children and young people with diverse learning needs, using creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approaches to significantly improve their educational prospects.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role:
* Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs referred by local authorities and schools
* Supporting their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:
* Planning engaging and needs-based sessions
* Delivering holistic sessions to support educational and social-emotional growth
* Completing reports and providing progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or similar needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available)
* Two professional references
* Right to work in the UK
It is essential to promote health, safety, and wellbeing according to safeguarding policies.
SEN / SEND Tutor employment status:
* Engagement as a Worker, providing short-term engagements
* Paid via PAYE under a contract for service
* No set hours or expenses covered
* Insurance covers your work; this is not self-employment
