Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Coaching & Performance Management to join a forward‑thinking Higher Education provider in London. The role involves shaping and leading an innovative, industry‑aligned programme focused on performance and esports.
Responsibilities
* Lead the strategic and operational management of the Coaching & Performance Management programmes.
* Deliver engaging and high‑quality teaching across coaching, performance management, athlete development, psychology, analytics, and related subjects.
* Develop innovative, industry‑aligned curriculum content and applied learning opportunities.
* Supervise student projects, applied coaching practice, and performance analysis work.
* Ensure compliance with academic regulations, quality assurance processes, and external benchmarks.
* Lead programme reviews, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support student engagement, retention, progression, and employability outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with coaching organisations, esports and sport clubs, analytics providers, and industry professionals.
* Lead programme team meetings and coordinate academic delivery across the programme area.
* Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of academic staff.
* Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and industry‑focused projects relevant to coaching and performance management.
* Represent the programme at recruitment events, open days, and external engagement activities.
Essential Requirements
* Proven programme leadership experience within Higher Education or a professional training environment.
* Strong academic or professional background in coaching, performance management, sport science, esports performance, psychology, or related disciplines.
* Experience teaching within Higher Education or equivalent environments.
* Understanding of curriculum design, assessment practices, and academic quality assurance.
* Experience leading or coordinating academic delivery or applied practice teams.
* Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Commitment to inclusive teaching and delivering an exceptional student experience.
* Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff members.
Desirable Requirements
* Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience working within OfS regulated environments or HE quality frameworks.
* Industry experience in coaching, athlete development, performance analysis, or applied performance settings.
* Experience supervising applied projects or reflective portfolios.
* Familiarity with performance analysis software, coaching platforms, or data analytics tools.
