Some pupils struggle to settle into lessons or manage their emotions, and that’s where you come in. This Behaviour Support role in Newcastle upon Tyne gives you the chance to support teenagers who need a calm, steady influence to help them get the most out of school.
What the role involves as a Behaviour Support Assistant
You’ll work with pupils who find some aspects of school challenging — whether that’s behaviour, focus or confidence. Your job is to help them stay involved, feel understood and develop better routines.
Key responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant
* Providing in-class behaviour support
* Helping de-escalate moments of frustration
* Running short reflective or mentoring sessions
* Encouraging positive communication
* Liaising with pastoral and SEND teams
You’ll be great as a Behaviour Support Assistant if
* You stay calm under pressure
* You’re patient and good at reading body language
* You enjoy supporting pupils who may be misunderstood
* You’re confident working with teenagers
* You hold an enhanced DBS or are willing to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
