We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead the procurement function within our retail operation. This role is responsible for sourcing high-quality products, services and utilities at competitive prices, managing supplier relationships, forecasting demand, and ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in retail purchasing, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with business goals and seasonal trends.
* Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, utility providers and distributors.
* Analyse sales patterns, customer preferences, and inventory levels to forecast demand and plan stock accordingly.
* Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions on reorders, markdowns, and discontinuations.
* Collaborate with merchandising, sales, and logistics teams to ensure seamless stock flow and timely deliveries.
* Negotiate terms and contracts to secure best prices, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
* Evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining performance metrics for existing vendors.
* Monitor market trends, emerging products, and competitor activity to keep the product range competitive.
* Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.
* Prepare reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and KPIs for senior management.
