Teacher of English
Full‑time (37 hours per week) – Salary £34,492 to £41,140 per annum – 44 days holiday (including bank holidays).

About the Role
Deliver engaging and high‑quality teaching across GCSE and Functional Skills English, supporting students with a range of abilities. Shape the English curriculum, track student progress, and work closely with curriculum teams to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality teaching in GCSE and Functional Skills English.
* Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively.
* Motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential.
* Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
* Participate in student recruitment activities such as events and open days.
* Support safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive student behaviour.
* Contribute to quality assurance and internal verification processes.
* Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities.
About You
We want an individual experienced in teaching and assessing English, ideally at GCSE level, who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative, flexible, proactive approach. You will be an engaging communicator, highly organised, and passionate about helping students succeed.
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject.
* GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
* Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
* Experience delivering English teaching.
* Commitment to CPD and continuous improvement.
Desirable
* Degree‑level qualification.
* Experience in Further Education.
