Overview
Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist – Fixed term for 12 months, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £31,049 - £37,796 per annum. Closing Date: 15th September 2025. Interview Date: 26th September 2025.

Role
A newly qualified or existing Band 5 Occupational Therapist to work within the acute setting of adult care. The post is to cover maternity leave, with a 1 year fixed term contract. A full induction will be provided, with regular supervision and peer support, along with CPD training as identified through appraisal. The post holder must be HCPC registered at the time of application.
Responsibilities
* Assess, diagnose, plan and deliver individual treatment programmes to patients referred to the therapy service, with six monthly rotations into clinical areas.
* Clinical placements/rotations through: Acute Medicine Team, Stroke Ward, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neurology outpatients, REACT (Emergency Department), Surgery.
* Interpret referrals and assess the capacities and limitations of patients/clients; organise own caseload under supervision.
* Plan and implement appropriate treatment plans; deliver treatment in the most appropriate location for the client (hospital, community setting, or patient home).
* Document all therapy interventions in a timely, objective, and confidential manner; adhere to departmental policy and demonstrate professional standards.
* Supervise Therapy Assistants/Technical Instructors where applicable; participate in clinical education and supervision of student Occupational Therapists.
* Promote the status and professional image of therapy services; adhere to the British Association of Occupational Therapists Code of Professional Conduct.
* Engage in training programmes for staff, students, and other professionals as applicable.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, and other professionals; support user involvement and decision making.
* Participate in the departmental 24-hour on-call rota and weekend working as required.

* HCPC registered at the time of application.
