We are seeking a Faculty Leader to work alongside Principal Jessica Stevenson to develop a centre of excellence in Computing, Health Science, and Sport Science. The role involves leading teams to ensure excellent delivery of Cambridge National and Technical qualifications in Health, Sport Studies, and Sport Science (L2), GCSE and A-level Psychology, and GCSE Sociology. The successful candidate will also help implement our upcoming T-Level in Health, starting September 2026, across both UTC Sheffield OLP and UTC Derby Pride Park through planning, employer engagement, and securing work placements.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled practitioner with a strong understanding of educating 13-19-year-olds in a technology-rich, employer-led environment. Effective partnership working is essential. We offer support to develop your leadership skills through targeted training, ensuring outstanding outcomes for students and career progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing the faculty to uphold UTC values and policies
* Providing high-quality teaching and assessments
* Collaborating on teaching and learning planning across faculties
Successful candidates will be expected to:
* Lead and empower staff within the department
* Implement curriculum and assessment strategies effectively
* Monitor and report on student performance
* Apply intervention strategies demonstrating impact
Candidates should have:
* The ability to work under pressure and within a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Leadership and management experience
