Secondary schools across Rushden are looking for committed and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2025. These full-time roles offer the chance to work closely with students aged 11-16, supporting academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development in a vibrant, fast-paced school environment.
About the Role:
Provide in-class support across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, and Humanities
Work one-to-one or with small groups to support students who may be struggling academically or socially
Assist teachers with lesson delivery, behaviour management, and resource preparation
Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), or EAL
Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that supports all learners
Help students build confidence, improve study skills, and prepare for assessments
Support with supervision during break/lunch times and transitions between lessons
We're Looking For:
Experience working with secondary-aged students (in schools, tutoring, youth work, or mentoring)
A calm, patient, and proactive approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A genuine interest in education, learning, and adolescent development
Ability to adapt and build positive relationships with a wide range of students
Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies is desirable
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial, but not essential - full training provided
