We're looking for Support Workers in the Souhtend area. As a Mental Health Support Worker with Cera you will be playing a fundamental part in improving the lives of people with mental health conditions and a history of substance misuse. You will need to be comfortable supporting people who may at times present with challenging behaviour, training will be given. The role may include elements of personal care.

Are you prepared to support people in crisis, and to de-escalate sensitive situations?

Can you help people to make a positive change to their lives?

Can you communicate effectively and use active listening skills to understand people's needs?

Role highlights:

1. Shift patterns consist of Various block shifts between 07.00 and 22.00. Must have weekend availability (every other)
2. We can only consider drivers
3. Opportunity to complete either NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care (through work-based learning) and further progression opportunities

More about the role:

11. In this role you will need to be able to communicate and promote positive behaviour, identifying triggers in order to prevent escalations of stressful situations.
12. You must also be prepared to handle emergencies and crisis situations, using de-escalatation techniques to diffuse situations.
13. You will have an awareness of and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and the co-occuring disorders and the how they can influence menal health and substance misuse issues.
14. You will be resilient and able to manage stress and the emotional demands of the role.
15. You should have the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, social services and community organisations to ensure the people you support get access to a full range of support services.
