Job Title: IT Project Manager
Location: Hybrid role with 3 days per week onsite in Luton
Day Rate: £400 - £425
Start Date: Immediate
Job Type: Short Term Contract
An urgent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim IT Project Manager to join a busy IT function on a short-term basis. The successful candidate will not be focused on delivering a single large-scale project, but rather mobilising, structuring, and stabilising a portfolio of in-flight and emerging IT initiatives.
This is an ideal role for a pragmatic and hands-on Project Manager who thrives in complex environments and can bring immediate structure and clarity to multiple concurrent workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish governance frameworks and delivery controls across the IT portfolio
* Define project scope, objectives, and delivery models for several IT initiatives
* Develop high-level delivery plans, including roadmaps, sequencing, and prioritisation
* Support early-stage delivery of selected projects (where resources and time allow)
* Work closely with internal IT leadership and stakeholders to align priorities and manage expectations
Project Portfolio May Include:
* Migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (end of support approaching)
* Rollout of Microsoft Intune (device/app management, security policies)
* Group Policy review and rationalisation
* Active Directory cleanup and preparation for upgrade
* Definition and rollout of a patch management solution (security, compliance, resilience)
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven ability to initiate and mobilise IT projects effectively
* Strong skills in governance, scoping, and high-level planning
* Confident stakeholder management - able to build credibility quickly at senior levels
* Broad subject matter understanding across Microsoft infrastructure, IT operations, and endpoint management
* Comfortable operating in a multi-project, fast-paced environment
