Position title: Director of Construction & Facilities – U.K. & Ireland

Reports to: U.K. Managing Director

Location: London (with regional travel)

As our Director of Construction & Facilities, you’ll lead the full U.K. store development journey — from new builds and refurbishments to maintenance and sourcing. You’ll shape how our juice bars look, feel, and perform nationwide, leading a talented team and collaborating with global partners to deliver the Joe experience.

As a key member of the U.K. leadership team, you will ensure that all stores are built, maintained, and operated to the highest standards of quality, safety, and brand experience. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across construction, maintenance, and procurement, collaborating closely with both regional and global stakeholders to drive efficient, scalable, and sustainable expansion across the U.K. and Ireland.


Your success in this role depends on your ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution — leading your team to deliver exceptional results across project management, supplier performance, and operational excellence, while ensuring a culture of inclusion, engagement, and growth.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Virtue-based Leadership:

Lead and develop your team in alignment with company virtues and operational principles.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.


New Store Development & Construction:

* Oversee all new store construction projects from feasibility and design coordination to handover.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality assurance standards.
* Coordinate with real estate, design, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
* Lead external contractors, architects, engineers, and permitting consultants.
* Uphold health, safety, and sustainability standards in all development activities.


Facilities Operations & Refurbishment:

* Oversee all store maintenance and refurbishment programs across the U.K.
* Develop and maintain preventative maintenance systems and service-level agreements.
* Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and other legal standards.
* Manage emergency repair protocols and optimize maintenance ticketing processes.
* Ensure stores remain safe, compliant, and aligned with brand and operational standards.


Regional Procurement & Sourcing:

* Lead the sourcing strategy for all construction, facilities, and maintenance materials and services.
* Build and manage supplier and contractor partnerships to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
* Drive procurement initiatives to achieve financial and sustainability targets.
* Collaborate with global procurement teams to align sourcing strategies.


Financial & Performance Management:

* Manage project budgets, cost controls, and forecasting accuracy.
* Report performance metrics, including project delivery timelines, cost savings, and vendor performance.
* Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and optimize store performance.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

* Act as the primary liaison between U.K. operations, finance, real estate, and global leadership.
* Represent the U.K. in global construction and procurement forums, sharing insights and best practices.

Operational Excellence:

* Project delivery on time, on budget, and in compliance with brand and safety standards.
* Facility uptime and maintenance response times.


Employee Engagement:

* Team development and retention metrics.
* Internal collaboration and communication effectiveness.


Financial Performance:

* Cost optimisation, procurement savings, and capital project ROI.


Sustainability & Compliance:

* Adherence to ESG goals, CDM compliance, and safety performance indicators.
