About the role
As a Data Officer you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience with responsibility to ensure that data held on The Sheffield College systems in relation to students, attendance and courses is timely, accurate, credible and is consistently high quality. You will be the funding and data specialist for a designated Faculty Cluster Team, providing a professional business partner function advising on Technical Funding Rules and Individual Learner Record documents.
Main Responsibilities:
* To be the technical funding and data expert to provide a business partner function for designated Faculties/Academies on all aspects of funding and data related matters e.g. transactional processing, course file, timetabling/registers, attendance, funding rules, data quality etc.
* To support the designated Faculties/Academies on the funding and data aspects of the annual Curriculum Planning process, advising on curriculum structure to ensure that areas academic plans optimise funding and meet compliance of the current funding rules and technical guidance documents
* As the funding and data expert for the designated Faculties/Academies provide timely, comprehensive and accurate responses and resolve queries on the funding and ILR technical rules and guidance documents
* To lead on data quality through conducting data verification checks to ensure data accuracy and the optimisation of funding, providing challenge and guidance to the Faculties/Academies through Data Clinics and attendance at management meetings
* To support the monitoring of the accuracy of learner documentation and advise, support and challenge service users on correct completion of learner documentation, including enrolment forms and registers
* To engage in conducting data audits as per the department schedule and to contribute to developments as may be required, supporting the Curriculum Department prior to Government funding audits
* To be responsible for resolving various data validation errors and warnings by running control reports as per the department schedule
* To be responsible for the accurate and efficient updating and maintaining of all aspects of student and attendance data and fees/loans confirmation, through the processing of new enrolment and change of student status data sets, to agreed quality and productivity standards
* To support the face to face enrolment process, fee information and attendance data on to College systems ensuring compliance with relevant external funding body rules
* To contribute to the review and implementation of new transactional processes, and support the writing and maintenance of process documents, standard operating procedures and user guidance materials
