Project Engineer
On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for the role of Project Engineer for their stations and buildings portfolio in Wales & Western region on the CP7 framework. Works will include building 6 new stations and maintaining and renewing multiple stations throughout the region.

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers and CREs to manage design and/or construction activities for allocated projects. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, group and company standards, and Network Rail procedures within the stations and buildings programme.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Manage engineering projects according to Network Rail standards and specifications, ensuring alignment with Railway Group and Network Rail procedures.
2. Lead engineering activities to deliver schemes that are affordable, safe, environmentally responsible, on time, within budget, and of high quality.
3. Apply risk assessment techniques, including HAZOP analysis, and lead environmental aspects in line with Network Rail’s policies.
4. Monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors.
5. Provide project management advice for construction activities, including testing, commissioning, and site supervision, ensuring compliance with legislation such as CDM regulations.
6. Ensure the competence of internal and contractor personnel involved in design, construction, and specialist activities.
7. Review design and construction activities, conduct audits on contractors, and monitor safety, environment, and quality standards.
8. Share best practices across project teams.

Essential Requirements:
* Relevant experience in Buildings, Civils, Structural, or Building Services engineering, with involvement in design and construction projects across multiple disciplines.
* Technical qualifications such as HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
* Knowledge of Quality Assurance in a Buildings/Civil Engineering context.
* Understanding of independent assessment processes for work.
* Competency in Construction Design Management, risk assessment, and engineering management.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Membership of a relevant professional body with incorporated or chartered status, or degree-level education.
* Knowledge of structuring safety cases and environmental issues in engineering projects.
* Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
* Experience in project safety management and Yellow Book courses.
* Personal Track Safety Competency.
