We are looking for

a motivated nurse who is passionate about professional development and learning management skills. The individual will be an experienced nurse who is demonstrating consistently high standards of care and prioritises patient safety.

This post requires a great deal of flexibility and vision to support the existing nursing team, as well as being able to link in with the wider multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to manage change enthusiastically, lead, manage and develop a team of nursing staff.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff. The ability to manage a busy workload and to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on the important issues when decision making is essential.

The successful candidate will be supported in leading a team of nursing staff to develop personally and professionally. Recent experience within gynaecology is desired.

1. Act as a clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to both nurses and junior medical staff working within the unit. Act as a resource to other areas within the Trust as required.
2. Work towards safe and timely discharge plans and ensure barriers to discharge are identified and acted on in a timely and appropriate manner.
3. To be proactive in supporting the nursing team and acting as a positive role model always promoting best clinical and professional practice.
4. Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. Be actively involved in recruitment and staff development reviews. Facilitate orientation and training programmes.
5. To support the Management team in the implementation of new services, participating in audits, quality improvement projects, and rota allocation.
6. To be a role model to registered and unregistered staff members, representing the Trust Values and adhering to Trust policies e.g. Uniform Policy.
7. To actively engage in quality improvement projects, to be able to demonstrate prior involvement of leading and participating in improving both patient and staff experience through innovative changes.
8. To communicate respectfully with team members, demonstrating the importance of supporting other teams within UHBW.
