You will join a fast-growing new jewellery brand called DIYORA and to lead supply chain performance and innovation across purchasing, planning, logistics, and national distribution - ensuring operational excellence that supports ambitious sales and growth targets.
Job duties
1. determines what goods, services and equipment need to be sourced;
2. devises purchasing policies, decides on whether orders should be put out to tender and evaluates suppliers;
3. negotiates prices and contracts with existing and new suppliers and draws up contract documents;
4. forecast levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels;
5. conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
6. arranges for quality checks of incoming goods and ensures suppliers deliver on time; interviews suppliers' representatives and visits trade fairs;
7. researches and identifies new products and suppliers;
8. stays abreast of and ensures adherence to relevant legislation regarding tendering and procurement procedures
9. negotiate freight contracts and oversee compliance with customs regulations across key markets (UK and China mainly).
10. training and supervising the work of other members of staff
Skills Required
1. Strong background in business operations and track record of success in developing and implementing innovative business processes and tools.
2. Proven experience in a supply chain leadership role, ideally within wholesale/retail distribution business management, business administration, supply chain and operations management
3. Degree qualification or above in relevant field
4. Able to drive successful strategies for service, able to give suggestion to increase revenue, drive down costs and speed time to market.
5. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
6. Ability to develop and implement cost-effective purchasing strategies.
7. Experience in inventory management, stock control, and supply chain efficiency.
8. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
10. Work closely with internal teams to align purchasing decisions with business objectives
