Integrated Case Management are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work alongside our client in their own home. We have a number of hours available over the following shift patterns:

Hours/Shifts available:

A variety of shifts are available, for example:

* 9am to 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays

* 9am to 9pm alternate Saturdays

Other positions are available to cover Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

We are able to offer a number of hours, depending on the candidate.

The Successful Candidate:

Should be available to cover annual leave and periods of absence to meet the needs of our client and as part of the support team.

We are able to offer a funded DBS, a competitive salary starting at between £14 and £16 per hour in the week and between £16 and £18 per hour at the weekends, depending on experience, fully funded mandatory and specialised training and a pension plan.

The Client:

​X lives near Uckfield, East Sussex and loves life. He particularly enjoys spending time with his family, riding his bike, swimming and bathing, interactive games, being outdoors, social meals and social interactions and being with animals.

The Environment:

​X lives at home with his family and their gorgeous Labrador dogs, which is a relaxed place to work. The house is designed around X and it is a fun culture mixed with the seriousness of managing X’s needs.

The Role:

​X is looking for a Support Worker to join his growing team to help manage his daily routines and adventures in life, he has complex needs including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and quadriplegia.

X is a fulltime wheelchair user, and he is moved using hoists and slings. All day shifts are 2:1 care and you will work alongside another member of the team.

X requires assistance with all activities of daily living including feeding, drinks, personal care, toileting, washing and dressing, really X needs assistance with almost all activities throughout the day including managing his complex medical needs. He requires support to maximise his independence in all areas.

X has a blended diet and receives all fluids and medication via a PEG and Mic-key Button. His feeding tube needs to be managed and monitored carefully so knowledge of Gastro and giving meds is a real advantage here.

X is non-verbal and uses facial expressions and some movements to communicate and is able to express his likes and dislikes to his family and team.

You will follow his care plan to provide basic physiotherapy-led exercises and positioning and assist with bike therapy and other therapy programmes as advised by the relevant therapists, parents and care plan.

You will accompany X with members of his family to attend medical appointments as required as well as family outings. You will also be required to assist with our clients’ laundry, cleaning of his rooms and equipment.

Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given and you will be fully supported by his Case Manager and parents.

About You:

You will have excellent communication skills and have experience supporting a young person/adult with complex needs with personal care and general support.

You will be kind, positive, reliable with good timekeeping. Have a sense of humour, be fun, energetic and enthusiastic in the role, and a team player.

You will maintain client confidentiality and build a relationship of trust with our client and his family.

You will be confident in manual handling, providing personal care and gastrostomy management. You will have a willingness to participate and follow training modules which are provided as part of the role.

This role requires you to be a driver who can drive our client’s automatic vehicle. Therefore, you will have a driver’s licence. You would also need your own vehicle to get to our client’s rural location as it is not accessible via public transport or on foot.

You will be comfortable working around animals as our client has 4 friendly Labrador dogs, and not suffer from pet allergies
