2060 - Senior Technician – Mechanical Engineering (Part‑Time)
Position: Senior Technician – Mechanical Engineering (Part‑Time, 28.8 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
Location: Harrow College, Uxbridge
Salary: £24,569 – £26,114 per annum (pro‑rated for 28.8 hours per week)
Work Pattern: Monday – Thursday (4 days per week). Preferred pattern can be negotiated.
Employment Type: Part‑Time (4 days per week)

Key Responsibilities
* Support students and staff within the Mechanical Engineering section.
* Supervise a team of Technicians in Mechanical Engineering.
* Lead on health and safety issues, manage consumables, stock and maintain inventory.
* Prepare and maintain equipment for lecturing staff and students.
* Demonstrate equipment use and support teaching teams in curriculum delivery.
* Supervise students in the workshop, ensuring compliance with health and safety and good workshop practice.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience working as a Technician in Mechanical Engineering.
* Ability to work effectively with young people aged 16–19.
* Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
* Strong communication skills and ability to supervise a team effectively.
