Mechanical Design Manager
📍 South London | 💰 £60–75k + Package + Bonus | 🏗 Projects up to £5M
My client is a well-established Building Services Contractor based in south London with over 40 years’ experience in the industry who has worked on many high-end commercial projects in central London typically up to £10m in value (M&E), as well as an exciting portfolio within the Healthcare and Education sectors.
They are currently going through an exciting period of growth, doubling turnover in the last couple of years and are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work in an Engineering and Design Management capacity.
You will be required to develop the design of Mechanical Building Services systems from receipt of initial design brief to completion, combining a hands-on approach to developing design solutions and leading a team of Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out site surveys and visits
* Design of MEP systems from Architects’ drawings, leading an engineering team including engineers and CAD/Revit technicians to produce industry leading, cost effective solutions
* Collaborate closely with Clients, Consultants and professional teams, ensuring project alignment with their requirements.
* Present the design to the Professional and Contract Management teams.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
What You’ll Need
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Design of Mechanical Building Services
* HND/HNC level or above in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering
* Excellent working knowledge of current Building Services regulations including HTM’s
* Excellent knowledge of Building Services software packages including CAD & BIM
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Design & Build experience for an MEP contractor would be advantageous
