About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Covéa Insurance as a Schemes Assistant Underwriter within our Commercial Lines Team. This hybrid position combines working from home with time in our Halifax or Reading office.
What does a day‑to‑day look like?
* Learn the basics of underwriting — support broker referrals and underwriting decisions in line with Covéa’s appetite, working closely with experienced underwriters and escalating when needed.
* Build relationships — work with broker partners and internal teams, building confidence and communication skills as you go.
* Support trading activity — help with day‑to‑day trading tasks and team initiatives, learning what good looks like and contributing to team performance.
* Spot trends — help track and share simple underwriting and pricing trends, supporting analysis led by senior colleagues.
* Get involved in projects — support portfolio activity such as large loss reviews, reporting, and flood checks, gaining exposure across the business.
* Follow processes — keep records accurate and up to date, making sure all work follows Covéa’s systems and procedures.

* Market awareness — understanding of market trends and awareness of legal and industry developments.
