Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager (Pre-Construction) to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects within the nuclear sector. This role is pivotal in shaping the early stages of complex, high-value projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and driving excellence in safety, quality, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will oversee pre-construction activities across frameworks, working closely with stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure readiness for execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership
• Lead pre-construction planning for civil infrastructure projects within nuclear frameworks.
• Develop project execution strategies, schedules, and risk management plans.
• Ensure alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and safety specialists.
• Present project updates and reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Technical Oversight
• Review and approve design deliverables, feasibility studies, and constructability assessments.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality benchmarks.
• Drive innovation in construction methodologies and digital project management tools.
• Commercial & Contractual
• Manage framework agreements, procurement strategies, and tender evaluations.
• Oversee budget development, cost control, and value engineering initiatives.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to commercial terms.
• Risk & Compliance
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with nuclear civil infrastructure projects.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
• Maintain compliance with nuclear regulatory frameworks and industry codes of practice.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (Chartered status preferred).
• Proven track record (10+ years) in project management within civil infrastructure, ideally in the nuclear or highly regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
• Experience managing large-scale, complex projects from pre-construction through delivery.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM tools).
