Job Description
Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a fast‑growing part of the RAC delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members. As a Mobile Vehicle Technician you will work from the driver’s driveway to the workplace car park, following a digital schedule and using a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
* Perform in‑depth repairs that would normally be completed in a workshop.
* Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
* Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
* Report work and manage parts ordering through RAC’s mobile service platform.

Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
* A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
* Strong communication skills and ability to provide reassurance and clarity to members.
Location & Hours
Burnham‑on‑sea, Somerset – Full Time. 40 hours per week, core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with 1 out of 4 Saturdays.
Salary & Earnings
* Competitive base salary of £40,178, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000.
* Guaranteed overtime option to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
* Full‑time 40‑hour week with Monday‑Saturday availability (8 am–8 pm) for flexibility and stability.
