Test Engineer Location: Bedford Salary: £40,000 per year Hours: Monday Thursday, 9am 5.30pm. Fridays, 9am 3pm. Job type: Full-time, permanent Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Test Engineer to join their ever-expanding team. Responsibilities of the Test Engineer: Test Execution & Support: Carry out product and process testing based on agreed specifications. Assist in setting up test rigs, preparing samples, and recording accurate test data. Laboratory Operations: Support the daily operations of the test lab, including equipment maintenance, calibration checks, and ensuring a safe working environment. Quality Control Assistance: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assist in monitoring product quality during testing phases. Compliance Support: Help ensure testing activities align with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, UL, LVD, EMC, UKCA, CE). Data Collection & Reporting: Record and compile test results, assist in generating reports, and highlight any anomalies or non-conformances. Problem Solving: Collaborate with design engineers to investigate test failures, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions. Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for improving test methods, lab efficiency, and product quality. Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other departments to support project timelines and quality goals. Requirements of the Test Engineer: HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is desirable. Experience in a test lab or quality assurance environment is also desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with CAD tools and PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid EdgeSiemens Teamcenter, ARAS) is a plus. Understanding and the appreciation of relevant Standards and Directives (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL) is beneficial.
