GP Receptionist/Administrator
The vacancy is part-time
Shifts are 8am to 1pm or 1pm to 6.30pm
The candidate must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You must also be able to cover in holiday periods.

Job Summary:
Responsibility for the smooth running of operational tasks associated with the reception area and the telephone system together with general administration for the practice. Key Responsibilities
* To ensure patient confidentiality at all times
* To ensure all visitors are greeted professionally
* To ensure all telephone calls are managed appropriately and professionally
* To manage the flow of patients arriving for appointments, collecting prescriptions, obtaining test results
Key Tasks: Reception
* Arrange appointments (face to face and via the telephone)
* Answer telephones
* Deal with requests for results
* Take registration details of new patients
* Accept samples from patients
* Arrange hospital transport
* Key Tasks: Administration
* Deal with prescription enquiries
* Liaise with outside agencies and/or third parties to ensure patient records are verified
* Process incoming documentation from the website dashboard
* Manage waiting lists

The post-holder will:

* Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work
* Participate in audit where appropriate
Where necessary training will be provided for those candidates who have no experience working at a GP Practice
