Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to lead our Respiratory Pharmacy service for 12 months. You will lead a team of respiratory pharmacists and technicians to deliver specialist pharmaceutical care to respiratory patients at North Bristol NHS Trust.
This is a highly clinical role, involving prescribing and reviewing patients in outpatient clinics for interstitial lung disease and/or severe asthma, as well as inpatient review of complex patients.

Main duties
* Be responsible for promoting and implementing novel treatments and care pathways in respiratory medicine in partnership with respiratory consultants and specialist teams.
* Provide expert advice on national and international respiratory guidance across the Trust and BNSSG, and oversee the safe, sustainable and cost-effective use of respiratory medicines.
* Lead the Respiratory Pharmacy team and identify, plan and deliver specialist training on respiratory medicines optimisation to a wide range of healthcare staff at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Prescribe and provide outpatient clinic reviews for respiratory patients, including severe asthma and/or interstitial lung disease, and maintain oversight of these conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
* Contribute to medicines-related governance and financial management, including identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
* Support and mentor medical, nursing and pharmacy staff; provide expert advice on respiratory medicines to staff, patients and carers.
* Review complex inpatients on the respiratory bed base as required.
* Ensure safe, rational, sustainable and cost-effective use of medicines within respiratory medicine and provide leadership for the respiratory pharmacy team.
* Identify learning needs and deliver specialist training on respiratory medicines to a wide range of staff at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Promote and implement novel treatments and care pathways in respiratory medicine in conjunction with Respiratory consultants and specialist teams.

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential criteria
* UK registered pharmacist
* Clinical diploma or equivalent recognised postgraduate qualification
* Leadership qualification or equivalent experience
* Qualified IP

Essential criteria
* UK hospital pharmacy experience at AfC band 8A or above
* Relevant clinical pharmacy experience involving interstitial lung disease and/or severe asthma in a secondary care setting
* Strong leadership experience and values
* Experience of managing a team, including appraisals and HR policy adherence
* Leading and implementing audits and quality systems
Desirable criteria
* UK hospital respiratory pharmacy experience at AfC band 8A or above
* Evidence of publications
