Joseph Ash Galvanizing are currently looking for a Graduate Environmental and ESG Advisor to join our Head Office team and support the group with the day-to-day sustainability and environmental management of the business.
You will be working closely with all the sites and will be travelling throughout the country to ensure all sites are getting the support and meeting the standards set by both the company and government legislation. Additionally, the successful candidate will help to oversee activities associated with our 14001 and 9001 management systems.
We are looking for an environmental and ESG advisor who has a passion for sustainability and shows a willingness to support all of our colleagues in the journey to Joseph Ash Group becoming a cleaner, greener and more sustainable business.
***A CLEAN, VALID UK DRIVING LICENCE IS ESSENTIAL***
Your day to day;
* Advise and offer guidance to relevant personnel of environmental legislation, codes of practice and Company standards.
* Actively support the Group Head of Operations with the delivery of the ESG strategy at both Group and Local level.
* Ensure that both local management and central Joseph Ash management are informed of all environmental issues and legislation relative to their activities.
* Take responsibility for the 14001 (Environmental) and 9001 (Quality) management systems to include completion of internal audits, supporting external audits and overseeing system maintenance/improvement as required.
* Monitor and actively drive the continuous improvement of the environmental and quality performance of the company (through structured inspections and audits).
* Assess and review the environmental aspects and impacts of the business.
* Facilitate the statutory testing and associated environmental legal requirements of the business.
* Administer the documentation surrounding the group environmental and quality management systems.
* Assist with local authority site visits in accordance with environmental permitting regulations.
* Collate and review energy data (including Scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon emissions) to monitor and report on performance.
* Assist in the formulation of strategies to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
* Continuously review technological best practice updates with regards to reduction of emissions and cost.
* What we are looking for;
* Will hold a full UK driving licence (essential)
* Highly numerate and literate
* Be able to communicate effectively at all levels in both a verbal and written format
* Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel desirable)
* Self-Motivated with a passion for sustainability and/or continuous improvement
* Hold a degree level Environmental qualification (e.g. Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability etc.)
