Our Data, AI, Solutions & Engineering practice are looking for an experienced Data Strategy and Management consultants from Senior Manager to Director grade, ideally with a background in Financial Services, to join the team.
Our Data, AI, Solutions & Engineering team loves helping our clients solve their complex problems with data, by developing practical and high-impact data strategies; designing and implementing data operating models; creating actionable insights; embedding machine learning solutions; or building data platforms. We bring the right team and skills on the table and can offer deep expertise across Data Strategy, Data Science & Engineering, Data Visualisation, Data Management, Data Architecture and Software Development.

What you will be doing
You will be using your deep expertise in data and AI to help our clients solve their most important business challenges. You will also play an active role in supporting the growth of our team, helping build the skills needed to solve our client’s challenges. You will be a part of our leadership team, shaping the direction of the practice, growing the business and leading our people.
As a senior leader in our team, your role will involve:
1. Shaping solutions to our client’s most complex data and AI challenges
2. Leading the successful delivery of large, challenging, high-impact data and AI transformations
3. Acting as senior lead on client engagements, building trusted client relationships and driving commercial opportunities
4. Contributing to the ongoing evolution of Baringa’s global and local growth strategy
5. Coaching, mentoring, and advising junior colleagues on data and AI best-practice
6. Actively engaging in the development of our team, including acquisition of the best talent
Typical engagements include:
7. Developing tailored data and AI Strategies, which meet specific client needs and drive transformational value
8. Driving the delivery of data and AI strategies, including building teams, driving the delivery of value-focused use cases, and delivering data solutions - from data sourcing through to value delivery
9. Designing practical data & AI governance, data management frameworks and Data Architectures for clients, aligned to business needs
10. Performing maturity assessments across our clients’ data management, analytics and AI capabilities, to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to drive value
11. Delivering targeted uplift of data and AI capabilities in a way that delivers business benefit, including improved governance and management of metadata, AI models, lineage, data quality, master data, reference data, data architecture, reporting and AI solutions
12. Implementing agile data management delivery approaches, to iteratively deliver value whilst building capability
13. Driving the remediation of data quality and other root cause issues related to data
14. Working with technology teams and data engineers to automate data management activities and to integrate data governance into data pipelines and Cloud platforms as code

Your skills and experience
15. Previous consulting and/or industry experience in leading data strategy and in the practical delivery of data management, analytics and AI capabilities and solutions
16. Demonstrated expertise of the principles, practices and frameworks in data strategy, data governance and wider data management and AI competencies (, data quality, metadata, master data, data modelling, data standards, data architecture, reporting and insights, AI)
17. Practical understanding of risks and controls for data management, AI and privacy
18. Previous experience embedding operational data governance, data management, reporting and AI capabilities, in complex and diverse environments
19. Real world experience leading the delivering of data quality management and data profiling
20. Broad understanding of database designs, schema designs and data mapping
21. Experience with tools supporting data management (governance, quality, metadata, observability, visualisation/reporting, analytics, AI)
22. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to develop clear requirements and specifications and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues
23. Excellent people skills – creating, developing and maintaining relationships
24. Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
