You will be joining a well‑established civil engineering contractor operating across the Midlands, known for deliveringplex infrastructure schemes involving reinforced concrete works, drainage and groundworks. The organisation has a strong reputation for quality, safety and collaborative working across both Tier 1 and Tier 2 project environments.
Your new role
As Senior Planner, you will take responsibility for planning and programme management across tender, pre‑construction and delivery phases. You’ll work closely with project teams, clients, design partners and other stakeholders to develop accurate, structured and achievable programmes.
Your work will involve assessing construction methodologies, establishing critical paths, producing planning documentation, managing schedule updates and ensuring programme requirements under contract conditions are fully met. You’ll also support the wider team by identifying risks, constraints and opportunities that may impact delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A civil engineering background with operational experience gained on site.
2. Significant planning experience on civil engineering projects, ideally involving RC structures, drainage and groundworks.
3. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource planning and programme management.
4. Proficiency in P6 and Asta Powerproject.
5. Knowledge of planning requirements under JCT and NEC contracts.
6. Ability tomunicate clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders.
7. Highly organised, proactive and confident, working independently.
