Based in Chester, you will work a hybrid model. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Legal Cashier or an experienced Accountant with previous experience working within the legal industry. Salary/benefits: £30-35,000pa Hybrid work arrangement Job Duties: Maintain accurate client and office ledgers. Process all financial transactions including receipts, payments, transfers, and disbursements. Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and anti-money laundering regulations. Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow. Manage CHAPS, BACS, and international payments. Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with audits. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports. Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors. Raise and process invoices and ensure timely payments. Liaise with solicitors, clients, banks, and regulatory bodies. Support payroll and petty cash functions where required. Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards. Complete file closures in accordance with current procedures. Ideal experience Experience in legal finance or bookkeeping. Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures. Strong Excel and IT skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping. Organised and able to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive financial data. Calm under pressure and deadline-driven.
