Senior Claims Consultant – Public Sector

We are seeking a talented individual to join our public sector claims team. This role will be based in the Midlands, Cardiff, Reading or Leeds area. This is a hybrid role that requires working in the office at least three days a week.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Claims Consultant to work with our public sector client base (local authorities, housing associations, government bodies and blue light services). The role involves supporting clients through any losses they may have suffered and providing consultancy support on minimising the possibility of further claims in the future. This team provides strategic and operational risk advice to the UK’s largest organisations. Marsh is a professional services firm consisting of consultants, actuaries, accountants and ex‑lawyers.
Responsibilities
* Manage an allocation of clients, ensuring each receives optimum claims services from insurers and other providers.
* Travel to meet clients as required.
* Identify needs and deliver project work at the request of clients and the wider Marsh client base.
* Establish effective claims management procedures and provide insightful analysis of the client’s total cost of claims.
* Help clients understand the root causes of losses, why they happen and what can be done to minimise future occurrences.
* Produce report writing and training materials for clients.
* Deliver internal team and external client presentations.
Qualifications
* Strong public sector claims background with experience across EL, PL, Cyber, Property and/or Motor Fleet claims.
* Client‑facing experience advising on claims, reduction of claims spend, process improvements and/or claims trends.
* Strong relationship‑management skills to work with organisations, insurers, loss adjusters, TPAs and lawyers.
