Position Profile
The School of Kinesiology at Western University invites applications for a Limited‑Term faculty appointment to teach and coordinate lab‑based learning across integrated human movement courses, emphasizing applied movement analysis and functional performance labs. The appointment begins July 1 2026 as a two‑year, renewable limited‑term position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Academic Expectations
The successful candidate will:
* Teach and coordinate lab‑based learning across integrated human movement courses within the School.
* Design and deliver lectures and laboratory experiences that bridge physical activity theory with applied, movement‑based practice, enhancing learning in individual and group fitness, sport skill instruction, strength and conditioning, and fitness across diverse populations.
* Provide high‑quality instruction in both traditional and flexible learning environments and contribute to curriculum development that strengthens applied and experiential learning.
* Mentor and teach in teams, foster partnerships with community organizations, and participate in service activities that support the School, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and Western University.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
* A doctoral degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field; candidates with a master's degree and demonstrated relevant expertise will also be considered.
* Demonstrated technical expertise and practical experience in delivering movement science courses and applied expertise in strength and conditioning, sport‑specific movement assessment, and creation of evidence‑informed physical activity programs.
* Professional certifications from recognized national or international organizations (e.g., CSEP, ACSM, OKA, NSCA) and/or registration in a related health profession are considered assets.
* Experience developing and teaching courses across diverse learning environments, managing projects, coaching or leading others.
* Strong oral and written communication skills and evidence of contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Compensation Details
