We have a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in a career in commercial data analysis. Join our team as a Procurement Analyst on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months where you’ll be a valued part of our Commercial Department.
You’ll support a Strategic Procurement Manager, gaining responsibility for developing insight into our suppliers performance to support and take part in key negotiations with our suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
This role is designed to support the Commercial teams and the wider business by delivering business critical analysis, allowing the business to practise data led decision making. This will be achieved by clear and concise communication of occasionally complex information,
suitable for various audiences, to support the commercial teams on a wide variety of
areas. These will include analysis of cost inflation, retail price inflation, sales margin and a wide variety of other business metrics. This will allow the Wickes business to adapt and thrive in the fast moving world of modern retail, increasing customer loyalty, sales, profit and market share.
You’ll be working across many of our product categories understanding the opportunities and challenges that are being faced across our worldwide supplier base. You will gain valuable exposure to the commercial world and develop vital skills to build a successful career.

What we’re looking for:
If you’re looking to start a successful analyst career with the Wickes team you will need to be great with numbers, sharp with data, and not afraid to use the insight you generate to challenge the status quo.
As a part of a hard working, highly collaborative team you will need the confidence to build relationships, to be prepared to work at pace, hold your own under pressure and most of all not be afraid to get stuck in.
We are looking for individuals that are, ideally, educated to degree level with Economics, Mathematics or Science related degree and proficient on Excel and Google suite.
On top of your academic achievements and experience, we’re looking for a real interest in gaining exposure to the commercial and buying side of the Wickes business as part of developing your career with us.
Key Responsibilities
* Understanding data and providing reports and insight whilst working to tight deadlines and managing expectations.
* Being proactive in challenging and correcting inaccurate information to ensure the reports are reflective of actual performance.
* Developing and automating regular reports and ensuring all requirements are captured.
* Maintaining accurate data in Cost Management tools and manage robust cost change process
* Working closely with the Category Managers to maintain accurate product data files, COGs benefit trackers and other project based trackers
* Supporting a Procurement Manager on project management and delivery of revenue and cash flow initiatives
* Communicating effectively with Suppliers on a regular basis
* Liaising with suppliers and the rebates team to manage supplier rebates and report this to the Finance team

You’ll work from our Support Centre in Watford, where our Commercial team are based, along with our other support functions.
