About The Role
Manufacturing Engineering is a key player within the rapid and dynamic development of our World Class products, providing the interface between the Design and Production organisations to ensure all key departments of manufacturing are provided with the tools, processes and instructions to build our products to the design data in a repeatable and controlled manner. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides expert support, knowledge and engineering skill to deliver all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering within the development and production environment. Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will be involved in a range of activities including but not limited to:
* Develop and manage the Bill of Materials in line with the latest release of eBoM to ensure all parts of an aircraft or key assembly are identified and managed through the product lifecycle.
* Interpret engineering drawings to create/amend work instructions and identify processes, tooling and equipment to maintain delivery and quality standards.
* Lead the New Product Introduction process to support the introduction of new products or modification programmes into production.
* Manage responses to production Non-Conformances (NCs) by gathering appropriate engineering data and delivering containment, root cause analysis and corrective actions in a timely manner.
* Play a key role in Change Management and plan, develop and execute engineering change introductions.
* Early identification of new equipment and submission of CAPEX requests.
* Creation of production plans and shop layouts for new projects or requirements.
* Lead continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
* Expert understanding of configuration management and execution of all production controls.
* Creation and validation of work instructions using CAD, PLM and ERP platforms to support productive activity.
* Creating specifications for new tooling and equipment.
* Selection, analysis (via PFMEA) and control of appropriate manufacturing processes for all physical parts in a new assembly.
* Validation of changes to Bills of Materials and extraction of mBom from eBom to match changes.
* Implementation of comprehensive manufacturing plans for rate builds, including work instructions for all manufactured parts and assemblies.
* Providing and verifying standard timings for sub-assemblies and aircraft build to enable build flow analysis and line balancing.
* Define technical specifications and support external suppliers to meet delivery standards for sub-contracted items.
* Manage NCs and collaborate with other functions to resolve technical issues.
* Lead Continuous Improvement activities.
* Support Daily Stand-Up meetings and programme delivery administration.
* Support full Quality Assurance activities to maintain ISO9001:2015 compliance.
* Perform other duties as required.

* Be a focal point for good HSE standards and engagement within Production.
* Participate in HSE training as required.
Qualifications
About You
Desirable: Engineering Degree or HNC/BTEC 5 and/or Aerospace Engineering Apprenticeship.
Skills and competencies
Essential
* Callen Lenz is primarily an aerospace design and production organisation; in-depth aerospace industry experience is essential.
* Strong manufacturing engineering experience in an aerospace or high-performance vehicle environment.
* Expert understanding of configuration management and production execution activities: Bill of Materials (eBom to mBom).
* Creation of work instructions from design data in CAD, PLM and ERP platforms.
* Creating specifications for new tooling and equipment.
* Exceptional workshop practices and hand skills.
* Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) via 4D, 5Y, 5W2H techniques.
* Expert in PFMEA and other risk management analyses.
* Strong IT skills, specifically MS Office.
* Quality-minded attention to detail.
* Continuous Improvement champion.
Desirable
* Experience in MRO and OEM contexts is useful.
* Experience supporting R&D, prototyping, new product introduction or time-restricted development activity.
* Experience in un-crewed or remote-controlled vehicles is an advantage.
* Hands-on skills in prototype/small-batch assembly or composite materials work are advantageous.
* Identifying, developing and implementing solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency or quality.
* Lean manufacturing methodologies.

* Must be a British citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
* Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.
* Excellent communicator with good presentation skills.
* Excellent problem-solving ability and quality-minded attention to detail.
* Ability to work well in a team; self-motivated and enthusiastic about their work.
* Ability to obtain Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
