Interim Head of FP&A
Bedford (5 days onsite)
Up to £100,000 (6-Month FTC)
We are partnering with a Bedford-based client to appoint an experienced Interim Head of FP&A for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical capability, commercial insight, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This opportunity suits a senior finance professional who thrives in structured reporting environments, brings strong audit experience, and can add immediate value across financial planning, reporting, and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Reporting & Financial Control
* Support delivery of monthly accounts in line with the month-end timetable
* Ensure high attention to detail, with clear and transparent assumptions
* Deliver supporting schedules for exceptional items, with a focus on sales and profitability
* Produce and review reconciliations with professional scrutiny, identifying and mitigating risks
Year-End & Audit
* Support year-end close and audit delivery
* Prepare ad-hoc schedules to meet auditor requirements
* Complete assigned year-end deliverables in line with deadlines
* Assist with J-SOX audit requirements where applicable
Process Improvement & Risk
* Develop, streamline and enhance financial management and reporting processes
* Strengthen financial controls and drive efficiency improvements
* Support annual impairment and risk review processes
Functional Support
* Provide support across the wider Finance function where required
* Review customer contracts for lease classification purposes
About You
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Strong FP&A and financial control background
* Proven experience supporting audits and year-end processes
* High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
* Confident working onsite in a hands-on leadership capacity
* Available to start at short notice
This is a fully office-based role (5 days per week) offering up to £100,000 for the 6-month term.
