Job Description
Key responsibilities of the Audit Manager:
3. Leading the planning, execution, and completion of complex audit assignments, including group audits and owner-managed businesses (OMBs)
4. Taking full ownership of audit engagements from initial planning through to completion
5. Acting as the primary on-site client contact, managing queries and building strong relationships
6. Producing high-quality, review-ready audit files to minimise Partner and Director involvement
7. Managing team resources and capacity to ensure efficient delivery of audit assignments
8. Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior team members
9. Acting as a technical point of contact, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP
10. Working across a flexible portfolio tailored to your expertise (audit-focused or mixed including statutory accounts and tax)
The Successful Applicant
A successful Audit Manager should have:
11. ACA or ACCA qualified
12. Proven experience at Audit Manager or Assistant Manager level within practice
13. Strong technical background in auditing, particularly within owner-managed businesses
14. Experience leading audits and managing teams
15. Ambitious, proactive, and keen to play a role in shaping a growing department
16. Comfortable working in a hands-on role within a dynamic firm environment
17. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites (including occasional overnight stays)
