Job Title: Machine Operative (Dumper Driver / 360 Excavator Operator) Location: Rotherham Project: New Build School Development Project Duration: 2–3 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are currently recruiting experienced Machine Operatives, including Dumper Drivers and 360 Excavator Operators, to work on a long-term new build school project in Rotherham. This is a high-profile project requiring a strong focus on safety, quality, and professionalism, particularly due to the educational environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for operating plant machinery safely and efficiently while supporting the wider site team to deliver works on programme. Key Responsibilities Safe and efficient operation of plant machinery, including dumpers and 360 excavators Carrying out excavation, muck shifting, grading, and backfilling works Assisting with drainage, foundations, and general earthworks Working closely with groundworkers, supervisors, and site management Daily checks and basic maintenance of plant and machinery Ensuring all lifting and excavation works are carried out in line with RAMS Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping Complying with all site health & safety, environmental, and safeguarding procedures Working safely in proximity to other operatives, services, and structures Essential Requirements Valid CSCS-affiliated plant card (CPCS or NPORS with CSCS logo – mandatory) Proven experience operating relevant machinery on construction sites Strong understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work Ability to follow instructions, drawings, and site plans Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work Desirable Requirements Experience working on large-scale or public-sector construction projects Multiple plant tickets (advantageous but not essential) Safeguarding & Compliance Due to the nature of the project, an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to commencement Candidates must comply fully with safeguarding requirements associated with working on a school development Pay & Working Hours £20.00 per hour Monday to Friday – Full-Time Hours Overtime available on weekends, subject to site requirements What's on Offer Long-term, stable employment on a 2–3 year project Consistent work on a major local development Opportunity for overtime and long-term continuity
