AGR are working closely with our Aberdeen-based client to recruit an Offshore EPRD OIM to join its team on a contract basis for an expected duration of 3-6 months.
About the role:
The role requires OIMs to support the 2026 offshore Engineering Preparation Removal and Disposal (EPRD) campaign schedule, which comprises three major decommissioning activities from Construction Support Vessels (CSVs) across three disembarked assets. Activity levels increase significantly from March through late autumn, with varying durations and Personnel on Board (POB) levels driving the need for robust leadership.
The role requires candidates who can provide strong, safety focused oversight across these complex work scopes. Roles will operate on an equal time rota, with flexibility required to respond to operational needs. Some onshore working will also be expected during the onboarding phase to ensure alignment with project specific systems, processes, and campaign schedule.
Key duties and responsibilities:
The EPRD OIM will be responsible for all activity within installation 500m zones during the removal contractor’s preparation and lifting activities. They will hold primacy and are responsible for command and control of the installation in the event of an emergency in accordance with PFEER regulations.
During the offshore campaigns the EPRD OIM will form part of the offshore vessel team supervising preparation and lift activities executed from removal contractor vessels (on an equal time rotation.
The key responsibilities of this role are as follows -
* Responsible for all activity within installation 500m zones during preparation and lifting activities.
* Accountable for strict application of the Safety Case requirements and exceptions and all associated procedures and processes, including management of the operational and emergency bridging documents where relevant.
* Emergency response requirements, including supporting CSV Master during all Major Emergency events and Oil Spill response.
* Work closely with the onshore and offshore teams and removal contractor teams to execute the offshore works, ensuring all activities are undertaken in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner and in strict compliance with Company standards and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
* Review and approve permits for the removal contractor work on installations within the removal contractor permit to work system.
* Oversee compliance with Environmental permit conditions, controls, and regulator reporting, for example, during planned liquid and solid discharges during offshore cutting and removals.
* Responsible for command and control of the installation in the event of an emergency in accordance with PFEER regulations.
Work Experience:
* Valid OIM certification required.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements for work on offshore installations.
* Proven supervisory and people management experience in offshore or marine industries.
* Proven ability to develop highly effective working relationships – internally and externally
* Experience managing construction / modification activities.
