Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to oversee financial operations for our growing group of businesses. You'll take ownership of monthly reporting, HMRC compliance, and payroll, while acting as a key liaison between directors, accountants, and external stakeholders. This is a hands-on role with strategic influence—perfect for a detail-oriented professional ready to elevate our finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce Monthly P&Ls – Prepare and analyse management accounts for group subsideries
Resolve and manager HMRC – Lead VAT/PAYE investigations and negotiate payment plans for efficiencies
PAYE & Payroll – Oversee RTI submissions, NICs, and payroll processing.
Team Leadership – Train junior staff and streamline bookkeeping processes.
Stakeholder Management – Advise directors, support accountants, and liaise with auditors/banks.
Essential Skills:
* 3+ years' bookkeeping experience (UK practice).
* Expertise in Xero/QuickBooks (certification preferred).
* Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and MTD compliance.
* Ability to present financial data to non-finance directors.
* Proactive problem-solver with HMRC experience.
Nice to Haves:
* Experience in multi-entity/multi-subsidiary environments.
* Payroll software proficiency (e.g., BrightPay, Xero).
* AAT qualified (or equivalent).
