Job Description:
Job overview
There is a fantastic opportunity to work with older adults in a secondary mental health setting to help improve their psychological wellbeing and develop a broad range of clinical skills.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Stepped Care Therapy Team within Older People's Mental Health Services in Peterborough.
The team comprises Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Occupational Therapy Assistants. We host placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists, mainly from the University of East Anglia. We are a proactive team with plans for further development of psychological services.
The team collaborates with community services, mental health practitioners, the Memory Assessment Service, and Social Care. This role is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologists.
Relocation packages are available, subject to eligibility.
Please review the essential criteria and demonstrate how you meet them in your application.
Main duties of the job
The role includes assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions, including specialist neuropsychological assessments when appropriate. The post holder will also provide consultation to non-psychology colleagues and work multidisciplinary with mental and physical health staff.
Opportunities exist to participate in broader directorate initiatives. The service offers a comprehensive CPD program, supporting additional training such as CBT for personality disorder and psychosis, EMDR, and DBT skills. There is also an interest in developing neuropsychological components to support memory assessment.
If you seek a new challenge, enjoy variety, and want to make a difference for our community by supporting older adults with mental health needs, we would like to hear from you.
